The Hon. Patrick T. Barrett is a judge for the Berks County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2015.
Prior to his election, Barrett was a shareholder at Hartman Shurr Valeriano. He joined the firm, which was previously named Essig, Valeriano & Fudeman, in 2011.
Barrett earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from the University of Scranton. He then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Barrett began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Berks County District Attorney’s Office in 1987. He spent the next three years prosecuting criminal cases. Then, in 1990, he entered into private practice, handling loan workouts and collections for financial institutions and corporations.
Barrett was a resident of Maidencreek Township at the time of his election.
