The Hon. Peggy D. Richardson (Ret.) served as a judge for the 26th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. Richardson was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jay Nixon on November 9, 2016. She retired in 2021 and joined the Missouri Gaming Commission as its Executive Director.
The 26th Judicial Circuit includes Camden County, Laclede County, Miller County, Moniteau County, and Morgan County.
Prior to her appointment, Richardson was an associate judge for the 26th Judicial Circuit, a position to which she was elected in 1998. She also spent time as a municipal judge for Clarksburg, Jamestown, and Tipton.
Richardson earned a bachelor’s degree from Central Missouri State University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.
Over the course of her legal career, Richardson worked as an attorney in private practice as well as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Morgan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Richardson was born and raised in Morgan County. She attended Tipton High School.
She is registered as a Republican.
