The Hon. Phillip B. Journey is a judge for the 18th Judicial District Court of Kansas. He was elected to the bench in 2008 and re-elected in 2012, 2016, and 2020.
The 18th Judicial District encompasses Sedgwick County.
Journey earned a bachelor’s degree from Washburn University in 1979. He then completed a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1983.
His memberships have included the Board of the National Rifle Association of America. He subsequently founded the Restore the NRA campaign, which sought to raise funds for the organization’s legal defense.
Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Journey has represented the 26th District in the Kansas Senate. He was appointed to the position in 2004, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of Nancey Harrington.
He is registered as a Republican.
