The Hon. R. Stuart Albright is a judge for the Guilford County Superior Court in the 18th Judicial District of the 4th Division in North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mike Easley in 2006, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of his father, the Hon. W. Douglas Albright.
Prior to his appointment, Albright was the District Attorney for Guilford County, a position to which he was named in 2001. Before that, he was a managing partner at Forman, Rossabi, Black, Marth, Iddings & Albright (2000 to 2001) and an associate at Adams, Kleemeier, Hagan, Hannah & Fouts (1995 to 2000) in Greensboro.
Albright earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1991. He then completed a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995.
His memberships have included the North Carolina Governor’s Task Force on Driving While Impaired. He has also been involved with the Executive Committee of the Conference of District Attorneys.
Albright was a resident of Greensboro, North Carolina, at the time of his appointment. He and his wife, Carole, have two children. Carole is also an attorney, specializing in family law matters.
He is registered as a Democrat.
