The Hon. Ralph T. Strother (Ret.) was a judge for the 19th District Court of Texas in McLennan County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor George Bush in 1999 and re-elected in 2012 and 2016. Strother retired in December 2020.
Prior to his appointment, Strother worked as an attorney in private practice, specializing in criminal law matters. Before that, he spent time as an assistant district attorney for the McLennan County District Attorney's Office.
Strother earned a B.A. from Baylor University in 1965. He then went on to earn his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law in 1982.
He is a former legal advisor to the Waco Police Department, a chancellor to the Texas State Technical College System, and a president of the Waco School Board. He also served as a defense intelligence agency operative during the Vietnam War.
Following his retirement, Strother rejoined the McLennan County District Attorney's Office as a prosecutor.
Strother is a registered Republican.
