The Hon. Randall Basinger (Ret.) served as a judge for the General Division of the Putnam County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. Basinger was appointed to the bench in 1987. He retired in May 2017 and joined the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office as an assistant prosecuting attorney.
Prior to his appointment, Basinger was a law clerk for the Hon. Robert Simmons of the Lake County Court of Common Pleas. He also spent time as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Putnam County Prosecutor's Office and the City of Cleveland Law Department.
He received a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University. Basinger went on to complete a J.D. at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.
He has taught Trial Advocacy at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law, and Constitutional Law at Bluffton University.
Basinger was raised on a farm near Columbus Grove.
He is registered as a Democrat.
