Hon. Randall W. Kelley (Ret.) was an associate judge for the 20th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois in St. Clair County. After nearly ten years on the bench, he retired on March 1, 2018, to enter into private practice.
During his judicial tenure, Kelley presided over cases ranging from traffic court and small claims to family law and major jury dockets.
Prior to joining the bench, his legal career included working as an assistant attorney general, an assistant state’s attorney, an assistant public defender, and chief public defender. He was also a partner and an associate in private practice and managed his own law firm, the Law Office of Randall Kelley. His areas of practice included criminal law, major civil law, family law, and personal matters.
He received a B.A. from Western Illinois University in 1973. Kelley went on to complete a J.D. at the John Marshall Law School (now the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law) in 1980. He was admitted to practice in Illinois (1980) and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
Following his retirement, Kelley joined Kelley & Kelley, LLC, practicing alongside his son, Tom Kelley. He was also of counsel at The Gori Law Firm.
