The Hon. Randi L. Burnett is a commissioner for the Pima County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench in 2021.
Prior to her appointment, Burnett was an attorney at the McCarthy Law Firm, where she represented individuals in dissolution, paternity, child support, post-decree, and third-party rights cases. She supplemented her practice with service as a volunteer attorney and founder of Step Up to Justice, a Pima County-based pro bono civil legal services organization.
Burnett earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Northern Arizona University in 2003. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 2007.
After graduating from law school, Burnett began her legal career as a staff attorney and law student coordinator for Southern Arizona Legal Aid. During her five-year tenure there, she trained attorney volunteers in domestic relations, developed pro bono programs, and assisted clients with bankruptcy, consumer protection, landlord/tenant, and guardianship matters.
Then, in 2012, she entered into private practice. She started at Waterfall, Economidis, Caldwell, Hanshaw & Villamana, rising through the ranks to become a partner and shareholder. She represented clients in domestic relations law and litigation.
She is a recipient of the Champion for Children and Families Award from Arizona’s Child and Family Resources. She was also recognized as one of the 50 Top Pro Bono Attorneys in Arizona by the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education (2014, 2015).
