Hon. Randy A. Brandt (Ret.) was a judge for the Spokane County District Court in Washington. He was appointed to the bench by the Spokane County Commissioners in 2011. Brandt was later defeated in his bid for re-election in 2014.
Over the course of his judicial career, he was named presiding judge of the Spokane County District Court in 2014 and also presided over the Mental Health Docket.
Prior to his election, Brandt sat as a commissioner (2003 to 2009) and a pro tem judge (1993 to 2003) for the Spokane County District Court and an administrative law judge for the Office of Administrative Hearings (2010 to 2011).
He received a B.A. from Gonzaga University in 1974. Brandt then spent the next several years working in the real estate industry before completing a J.D. at Gonzaga University School of Law in 1988.
After law school, Brandt opened a solo practice and was serving in that capacity when he became a pro tem judge in 1993.
His civic involvement included Camp Fire Boys and Girls, the Exchange Club, the Spokane Lions Club, the Spokane River Association, the Spokane Regional Law Enforcement Museum (president), and the Fairchild Air Force Base Bar Association (honorary member).
Brandt, who is a lifelong resident of Spokane, graduated from Lewis & Clark High School.
