The Hon. Renee Sandoval Doak is a judge for the Weld County Court in Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on January 10, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Charles Unfug.
Prior to her appointment, Doak was a deputy district attorney for the 8th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2004. In that capacity, she specialized in the prosecution of criminal matters. Before that, she was a deputy district attorney with the 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office (1998 to 2004).
Doak earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1989. She then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law in 1992.
After graduating from law school, Doak began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Dickran Tevrizian of the United States District Court for the Central District of California. She served in that capacity until 1993, at which time she became an assistant to the Regional Director for SMH Bar Review. Then, in 1994, she entered into private practice, working as an attorney at Doak & Associates.
