The Hon. Robert Katims is a judge for the Vermont Superior Court. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Phil Scott in April 2023.
Katims has held an assignment in the Family Division in Franklin County and has also presided in Lamoille County.
Prior to his appointment, he was a partner and managing partner at Hoff Curtis, P.C. since 1992. During his tenure in private practice, Katims gained experience in criminal and family law matters, acting as defense counsel in several high-profile cases and practicing in every county in the state and Federal Court.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont. Katims then completed a J.D. at Vermont Law School in 1988.
His memberships include the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Vermont Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (founding member and past president), and the Vermont Association for Justice.
He and his wife reside in Hinesburg with their four children.
