The Hon. Robert L. Bauer is a judge for the Oneida County Court in the Fifth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the County Court in 2017. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Barry Donalty (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge Bauer received his B.A. from Siena College. He went on to earn his J.D. from Albany Law School in 1997.
After graduating from law school, Bauer joined the Schenectady County District Attorney’s Office, where he worked as an assistant district attorney for four years. He then became an assistant district attorney in Oneida County, where he would remain until being elected to the County Court.
Judge Bauer also served as a volunteer firefighter and a certified emergency medical technician for the Maynard Volunteer Fire Department in New York. As a member of the volunteer fire department, Bauer participated in The Firefighter Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run in New York City.
His other community activities include participating in the Ride for Missing and Exploited Children and serving as a local youth sports coach.
Judge Bauer has also taught criminal justice as an adjunct professor at the Mohawk Valley Community College.
At the time of his election to the bench, Judge Bauer resided in Marcy, New York with his wife and three children.
