The Hon. Robert T. Bateman is a judge for Part IV of the 19th Judicial District Circuit Court of Tennessee. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Bill Lee in 2021, filling the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Jill Ayers to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.
The 19th Judicial District includes Montgomery and Robertson Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Batemen was in private practice at Bateman & Bateman, P.C. in Clarksville since 1990.
He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Austin Peay State University in 1987. Batemen then completed a J.D. at Vanderbilt Law School in 1990.
His memberships include the Montgomery and Robertson County Bar Associations. Bateman is a graduate of Leadership Clarksville, Class of 1992.
He and his wife, Kim, reside in Montgomery County, Tennessee.
Bateman is registered as a Republican.
