The Hon. Rosemary A. Emory is a judge for the 5th Judicial District Court of Idaho. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Butch Otter on January 3, 2019, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. John K. Butler.
The 5th Judicial District encompasses Blaine, Camas, Cassia, Gooding, Jerome, Lincoln, Minidoka, and Twin Falls Counties. Emory has held assignments in Jerome County.
Prior to her appointment, Emory was a senior deputy prosecuting attorney for the Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was named in 2010. Before that, she litigated Medicaid fraud cases as a deputy attorney general for the Idaho Attorney General’s Office. She also briefly served as a public defender for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.
Emory earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Idaho in 1992. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Idaho College of Law in 1995.
