Hon. Samuel A. Evig is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Court of Colorado. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on August 24, 2021, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jann P. DuBois (Ret.).
The 4th Judicial District includes El Paso and Teller Counties.
Prior to his appointment, Evig was a judge for the El Paso County Court since 2018.
Before joining the bench, he was a partner at Dahl, Fischer & Wilks, LLC (2017 to 2018). His legal career also included working as a senior deputy district attorney (2016 to 2017) and a deputy district attorney (2007 to 2016) with the 18th Judicial District and as an associate at Sherman & Howard, LLC (2005 to 2006).
Evig received a B.A. from Adams State College in 2001. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Iowa College of Law in 2005.
