The Hon. Samuel Marsh (Ret.) was a district magistrate for the 11th Judicial District Court of Kansas. He was appointed to the bench in 2015, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Bill W. Lyerla. Marsh retired on December 31, 2021.
The 11th Judicial District includes Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette Counties.
Prior to joining the bench, he worked for fifteen years as a private practice attorney in Columbus.
Marsh received a bachelor’s degree from Kansas State University. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Kansas School of Law.
Following his retirement, Marsh hoped to continue raising cattle on his family farm, spend more time with his dogs, and open a canine rescue shelter with the help of his daughter and son-in-law.
