The Hon. Selena D. Epley is a judge for the Superior Court of San Diego County in California. She was appointed to the bench by former governor Jerry Brown on July 16, 2014, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William H. McAdam, Jr.
Epley earned a B.A. from the University of Washington. She then received a J.D. from Stanford Law School.
Epley began her legal career as a law clerk for the Office of the Primary Public Defender of San Diego County in 1995. She then joined the Office of the Primary Public Defender as a deputy public defender, eventually rising to Assistant Supervising Attorney for the central felony team in 2012. She stayed with the Office of the Primary Public Defender until her appointment to the bench.
She is registered as a Democrat.
