The Hon. Steven O. Williams (Ret.) served as a judge for the Probate and Juvenile Division of the Fairfield County Court of Common Pleas in Ohio. Williams was elected to the bench on November 8, 1994. He retired on December 31, 2012.
Prior to his election, Williams sat as a judge for the Lancaster Municipal Court, a position to which he was named in 1994.
Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Ohio Northern University. He then completed a J.D. at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law. Williams was admitted to the Ohio State Bar in 1976.
After graduating from law school, Williams entered into private practice, a position he held until his election to the bench. During this time, he also sat as a State Representative for the 78th District in the Ohio House of Representatives (1981 to 1990) as well as a State Senator for the 31st District in the Ohio State Senate (1991 to 1993).
He is registered as a Republican.
