Hon. Thomas P. Redington is an associate circuit judge for the 2nd Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jay Nixon in January 2014, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William Alberty (Ret.).
The 2nd Judicial Circuit Court includes Adair, Knox, and Lewis Counties.
Prior to his election, Redington was the Prosecuting Attorney in Marion County, serving in that capacity since 1996. In addition to working as a prosecutor, he was in private practice for thirty-two years (1982 to 2014).
He also taught as an adjunct faculty member at the National College of District Attorneys (2008 to 2013) and was on the faculty of the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services Trial School (2010 to 2013).
He received a B.A. from Quincy University in 1979. Redington went on to complete a J.D. at Seattle University School of Law in 1983.
He was admitted to practice in Washington (1982), Missouri (1983), and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri (1983).
Redington sat on the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys Board of Governors and the Missouri Association of Drug Court Professional Board of Directors. He is also a past president of the Holy Family School Board in Hannibal and the Board of Directors of the Hannibal Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
He is registered as a Democrat.
