The Hon. Todd L. Cresap is a judge for the North Dakota North Central Judicial District. He was initially appointed to the Northwest Judicial District by former Governor John Hoeven in 2009, transferring to the North Central Judicial District when it was created on January 1, 2014.
The North Central Judicial District includes Burke County, Mountrail County, and Ward County.
Cresap earned a bachelor’s degree from Minot State College in 1983. He then completed a J.D. at the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1986. He was admitted to practice in North Dakota (1986) and the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota (1986).
After graduating from law school, Cresap entered into private practice in Minot. He worked in that capacity until his appointment.
Cresap was born in Valley City, North Dakota. He and his wife, Linda, have three children.
