The Hon. Vince M. Rozier is a judge for the Wake County Superior Court in the 10th Judicial District of the 3rd Division in North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper in 2017.
Prior to his election, Rozier was a judge for the Wake County District Court, a position to which he was appointed by former Governor Mike Easley in 2006. He served in that capacity until 2011, at which time he became the ombudsman for the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. Then, in May 2011, he was re-appointed to the Wake County District Court, this time by former Governor Bev Perdue.
Rozier earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998. He then completed a J.D. at North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2001.
After graduating from law school, Rozier began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Wake County District Attorney’s Office. During his tenure there, he tried nearly seventy jury trials, including murder and other serious felonies.
His memberships have included the Wake County Diversion Program.
A resident of Raleigh, North Carolina, Rozier is the son of a preacher and a teacher. He spent his childhood farming with his grandparents and working in tobacco fields. Rozier and his wife, Dekhasta, attend Crossroad Fellowship Church. Dekhasta is also an attorney, working alongside her father and two brothers at the Becton Law Group. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he enjoys running, having completed a marathon, multiple half marathons, and triathlons. He has also published two books: “101 Days: The Fruit of the Spirit in You” and “The Best Time to Eat and Exercise Guide.”
He is registered as a Democrat.
