The Hon. Wanda J. Morgan is a general magistrate for the 1st Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was appointed to the bench by Chief Judge Linda L. Nobles on June 1, 2018.
The 1st Judicial Circuit encompasses Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton Counties. Morgan has held assignments in Okaloosa County.
Prior to her appointment, Morgan worked as an attorney in her own private practice, a law firm she opened in 2009. Before that, she spent time as an attorney at Jones & Flowers (2006 to 2009). Over the course of her legal career, Morgan specialized in family law and criminal defense matters.
Morgan earned an A.A. in paralegal studies from Okaloosa-Walton Community College in 1996 and a B.A. in legal administration from the University of West Florida in 1998. She then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 2001.
After graduating from law school, Morgan began her legal career in private practice. She first joined Matthews & Hawkins, where she worked as an attorney from 2002 to 2004. She then moved to the Law Offices of Stephen S. Poche. She practiced there for one year, quickly leaving to accept a position as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney.
Her memberships have included the Okaloosa-Walton Bar Association, the Judicial Nominating Commission, the 36th EWS (Eglin AFB), and the 919th Special Operations Wing (Eglin AFB).
