Hon. Wayne D. McLocklin is a judge for the Piedmont Judicial Circuit Superior Court in Georgia. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Nathan Deal on November 28, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the passing of Senate Bill 356.
The Piedmont Judicial Circuit is comprised of Banks, Barrow, and Jackson Counties.
During his judicial tenure, McLocklin has served as the presiding judge of the Parental Accountability Court.
Prior to joining the bench, he was the managing partner at the law firm of McLocklin & Murphy, LLP. He also practiced at McLocklin, Murphy & Dishman, LLP and Russell, Stell, Smith & McLocklin (1992 to 2003). McLocklin first entered into private practice in 1984.
He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia in 1981. McLocklin went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Georgia School of Law in 1984.
From a civic standpoint, he has been involved with the Gridiron Secret Society, the AGHON Honor Society, the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce, the Oconee River Soil and Water Conservation District, and Cattleman’s organizations.
McLocklin and his wife, Melanie, have two children. At the time of his appointment, he and his family resided in Statham.
