Hon. Wenona C. Belton is a presiding judge for the Fulton County Juvenile Court in Georgia. She first joined the bench as an associate judge in July 2013.
Belton was subsequently appointed a presiding judge of the Juvenile Court in Fulton County in January 2020.
Prior to beginning her judicial career, she acted as an agency attorney, public defender, judicial staff attorney, and clerk of the court with the County’s Juvenile Court.
Belton was certified as a Child Welfare Law Specialist by the National Association of Counsel for Children in 2012.
She received a B.S. in textiles and apparel from the University of Maryland. Belton went on to complete a J.D. at Georgia State University College of Law.
She has served as a cabinet member of Get Georgia Reading, an initiative designed to ensure proficiency in reading for children by the end of third grade. Belton has also sat as a member of the Georgia Appleseed Bridges to Behavioral Wellness Advisory Committee.
An active member of her community, she has been involved with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., CASA (volunteer), the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation (Domestic Violence Project volunteer), and the Fulton County Solicitor’s Victim Witness Assistance Program (volunteer).
Belton also spent time as a foster parent.
