The Hon. William A. Long is a judge for the Iredell County Superior Court in the 22A Judicial District of the 4th Division in North Carolina. He was elected to the bench on November 3, 2020.
Long earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina. He spent the next few years working at Piedmont Bank in Mooresville before completing a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law and an M.B.A. at Wake Forest University School of Business.
After graduating from law school, Long began his legal career as an attorney in private practice, handling criminal and civil cases in Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Statesville. He represented individuals and businesses in complex litigation, real property, estate planning, and criminal defense matters, supplementing his practice with service as an attorney to the Iredell-Statesville School District’s Board of Education.
His memberships have included the Board of Directors of Iredell Museums and the Board of Directors of Power Cross Ministries. He has also volunteered as a member of the Kairos Prison Ministry Team at the Alexander County Correctional Institution, and he has served as the Director of Development for Fifth Street Ministries.
Long is a lifelong resident of Iredell County, where he attended Statesville High School.
He is registered as a Republican.
