The Hon. William S. Dickenson is a circuit judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Clark Erickson.
The 21st Judicial Circuit includes Kankakee County and Iroquois County.
Prior to his election, Dickenson was an associate judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit, a position to which he was named in 2018. Before that, he spent time as an assistant state’s attorney with the Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Dickenson earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 1987. He then completed a J.D. at Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1990.
A resident of Bourbonnais, Dickenson and his wife, Kelly, have two children. Kelly is a teacher for the Bradley School District.
He is registered as a Republican.
