Hon. Yolanda M. Fennick is a judge for the El Paso County Court in Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on October 23, 2021, filling the vacancy created by the appointment of the Hon. Samuel Evig to the 4th Judicial District Court.
Prior to her appointment, Fennick managed her own private family law practice, the Law Office of Yolanda M. Fennick, P.C., since 2006. Before that, she was a partner at Kane Donley & Johnson, P.C. (2001 to 2006) and a managing attorney at Colorado Legal Services (1996 to 2000).
Fennick received a B.A. in English from Lincoln University. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Missouri School of Law.
Fennick served on the boards of Memorial Health System, the Police Foundation of Colorado Springs, the El Paso County Bar Foundation, the Diversity Committee for School District 20, CASA of Pikes Peak, the Girl Scouts - Wagon Wheel Council, and the American Red Cross of the Pikes Peak Region.
She was also involved as a National Security Seminar participant at the United States Army War College and was a co-coordinator with the Emerging Leaders Program with El Pomar Foundation.
Fennick is a graduate of the Colorado Springs Leadership Institute and Leadership Pikes Peak.
She was recognized in 2010 by the Colorado and El Paso County Bar Associations for her pro bono contributions.
Fennick, who was raised in an Army family, attended St. Mary’s High School in Colorado Springs. As a teenager, she served as a Red Cross volunteer at the Army Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas. In her free time, Fennick enjoys yoga, golf, studying Spanish, and spending time with her rottweiler, Zoey, and her shiatsu, Deacon.
