Judge Amy M. Baggio - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Amy M. Baggio is a judge for the 4th Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon in Multnomah County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Kate Brown on March 14, 2019, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Marilyn Litzenberger (Ret.).

Prior to her appointment, she handled criminal defense matters at her solo practice, Baggio Law, since 2013. Before that, she worked as a federal public defender for the District of Oregon (2002 to 2012) and a public defender with the Metropolitan Public Defender’s Office in Portland (2001 to 2002).

Baggio received a B.A. in speech communication from Wake Forest University in 1995. She then worked for a marketing and advertising firm for three years before completing a J.D. at Lewis & Clark Law School in 2001.

She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended high school in Alabama.
