Judge Bethany Stanley - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Bethany Stanley is an associate district judge for the Cleveland County District Court (District 21) in Oklahoma. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Kevin Stitt in 2020.

Prior to her appointment, Stanley was an attorney and partner at Schumacher & Stanley, PLLC since 2017. At the firm, she handled family law, personal injury, and criminal law matters. Before that, she had managed her own private solo practice (2011 to 2017) and was an associate in the Law Offices of Tracy Schumacher, P.C. (2008 to 2010).

Stanley received a B.S. in sociology from Southern Nazarene University in 1997. She then spent time as a Deputy U.S. Marshal assigned to the Western District of Oklahoma before completing a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2005.

After graduating from law school, Stanley began her legal career as an assistant district attorney in Cleveland County, a position she held for four years.

At the time of her appointment, she resided in Moore with her husband, Gene, and their two sons.
