Judge Carolina Maria Stark - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Carolina Maria Stark is a judge for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in the First Judicial District of Wisconsin. She was elected to the bench in 2012.

Stark has held an assignment in the Felony Division.

Prior to her election, she presided as an administrative law judge for the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Before that, Stark practiced as a trial attorney at the Stark Law Office, LLC and was also an attorney at Centro Legal Por Derechos Humanos and Esperanza Unida in Milwaukee.

She received a B.A. in criminal justice and Spanish from St. Louis University in 1999. Stark went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2002. While a law student, she was president of the Moot Court and served as an intern for the Wisconsin State Public Defender and Legal Aid to Institutionalized Persons.

Stark was vice-chair of the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission.
