Biography

The Hon. David A. Guten is a special judge for the Tulsa County District Court in Oklahoma. He was appointed to the bench by the district judges of the Oklahoma Fourteenth District Court in 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Guten was a senior attorney for the Military Law Group, a company he joined in 2013. He also spent time as a judge advocate for the United States Air Force (2005 to 2019).

Guten earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, sociology, and political science at Oklahoma City University in 2000. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2003.

After graduating from law school, Guten began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Tulsa County Office of the District Attorney. He served in that capacity until 2006, at which time he entered into private practice. Guten has worked as an attorney at LaCourse, Davis, Coffey & Gudgel (2006 to 2008), a partner at Woodward & Guten (2008 to 2013), and an attorney at Gorospe & Smith (2013 to 2017).
