Judge Jeth Jones - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Jeth Jones is a judge for the 122nd District Court of Texas in Galveston County. He was elected to the bench in 2022.

Prior to his election, Jones was of counsel at Mills Shirley, LLP since 2019, where he handled commercial litigation and civil defense matters. He also served as an associate municipal judge in Hitchcock.

Before that, he was a founding partner at Jones Robinson, LLP (2010 to 2019); an attorney at Jones Bennett, LLP (2008 to 2010); and an associate at Heard Robins Cloud & Lubel, LLP (2002 to 2008).

He entered private practice after serving as a prosecutor with the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office, where he served as felony section chief.

Jones received a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from Hampden-Sydney College in 1993. He went on to complete a J.D. at South Texas College of Law Houston in 1999.

His memberships include the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the Galveston Bar Association (past president), the Texas Bar Foundation, and the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity.

Jones attended St. John’s High School. He and his wife, Mary, have one son. When not presiding over legal matters, Jones enjoys playing golf, hunting, and fishing.

He is registered as a Republican.
