Judge Karrie K. McIntyre - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Karrie K. McIntyre is a judge for the 2nd Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Kate Brown on May 16, 2015, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Cynthia D. Carlson.

The 2nd Judicial District encompasses Lane County.

Prior to her appointment, McIntyre was a partner at Parrish & McIntyre, where she specialized in family law matters. Before that, she spent time as an assistant district attorney for the Lane County District Attorney’s Office, handling a range of cases from misdemeanors to complex cases involving vehicular homicides, financial fraud, elder abuse, and sex trafficking (2000 to 2006).

McIntyre earned a bachelor’s degree in forestry from Oregon State University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law.

After graduating from law school, McIntyre began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Mary Ann Bearden of the 2nd Judicial District Circuit Court.

Her memberships have included the Lane County Bar Association. She has also been involved with the Lane County Women Lawyers Steering Committee, the Lane County Elder Abuse Multidisciplinary Team, and the Lane County Family Law Advisory Committee.
