Judge Kent A. Delgado - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Kent A. Delgado is a judge for the Probate Division of the Cook County Circuit Court in Illinois. He was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court in 2017, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Gloria Chevere.

Prior to his appointment, Delgado operated the Law Office of Kent A. Delgado, where he handled criminal defense, probate, and immigration matters. Before that, he served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office from 1996 to 2007.

Delgado earned a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 1996.

He is a recipient of the Judicial Award from the Cook County Bar Association (2017).

When not presiding over the bench, Delgado enjoys traveling, sports, and spending time with his family.

He is registered as a Democrat.
