Judge LaMont K. Jacobson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. LaMont K. Jacobson is a judge for the Marathon County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Scott Walker on March 28, 2013, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Vincent K. Howard.

Prior to his appointment, Jacobson was an assistant district attorney for the Marathon County District Attorney’s Office, a position to which he was named in 1989.

Jacobson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 1976. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Minnesota Law School in 1979.

After graduating from law school, Jacobson began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Dunn County District Attorney’s Office. He also spent time as the District Attorney for Vernon County and a family court commissioner for the Vernon County Circuit Court.
