Biography

The Hon. Laura J. Corbin is an associate district judge for the Johnston County District Court in Oklahoma. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Mary Fallin on December 4, 2017, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Charles Migliorino.

Prior to her appointment, Corbin was a judge for the Tishomingo Municipal Court, a position to which she was named in 2000.

Corbin earned a bachelor’s degree from East Central University. She then completed a J.D. at Oklahoma City University School of Law.

After graduating from law school, Corbin entered into private practice. She started as an associate at Smith, Shew, Scrivner & Corbin in Tishomingo in 1996. Then, in 2008, she opened her own private practice as a sole practitioner. Corbin handled family law, contracts, wills, trusts, probates, real estate, deprived juvenile, bankruptcy, landlord/tenant, guardianship, and other civil litigation matters.

A resident of Coleman, Oklahoma, Corbin and her husband, Murray, have three sons. They attend Bullard Chapel Baptist Church, where she is the church pianist and the Sunday school teacher for students in the first through third grades.
