Judge Locke A. Williams - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Locke A. Williams is a judge for the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court of Oregon in Benton County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Kitzhaber in March 2002.

During his judicial tenure, Williams has served as Presiding Judge (2006 to 2013 and 2019 to present) and the Juvenile judge of the 21st Judicial District Circuit Court.

Prior to his appointment, he had managed his own private practice in Corvallis since 1991. Williams began his legal career at a law firm in Fort Worth, Texas.

He received a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1984. Williams went on to complete a J.D. at Texas Tech University School of Law in 1987.

He was admitted to practice in Texas (1987) and Oregon (1992).

His memberships have included the Oregon State Bar and the Linn-Benton Bar Association.

Williams served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Benton County Board of Commissioners, the Oregon Judicial Leadership and Education Committee, the Odyssey Change Control Workgroup, the Odyssey Data Reports Committee, the Oregon Judges Charitable Fund, and the Benton County Family Law Advisory Committee.

He was raised in Fort Worth, where he attended high school.
