The Hon. Mathew K. McCarthy is a judge for the Corning City Court in Steuben County in the Seventh Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the seat in 2014. He filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. David Kahl (Ret.).
He is a registered Republican.
Judge McCarthy graduated with his B.A. in political science and history from St. Bonaventure University in 2001. He went on to earn a J.D. from Albany Law School in 2004.
After graduating from law school, he entered into solo practice at his own law firm. His general law practice focused on Family Court, real estate, and trust and estate matters.
In addition to his law practice, McCarthy became a part-time assistant district attorney with the Steuben County District Attorneys Office in 2007.
