Judge Matthew C. Allen - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Matthew C. Allen is a judge for the Iowa County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was elected to the bench in 2022.

Prior to his election, Allen was the District Attorney for Iowa County, a position to which he was named in 2019. He also spent time as an assistant district attorney for the Iowa County District Attorney’s Office and corporation counsel for the Iowa County Corporation Counsel’s Office (2011 to 2019).

Allen earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2000. He then completed a J.D. at University of Wisconsin Law School in 2003. He was admitted to practice in Wisconsin (2003), the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin (2003), and the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (2003).

A resident of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Allen and his wife, Meggan, have two children.
