Judge Michael A. Schumacher - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Michael A. Schumacher is a judge for the Eau Claire County Circuit Court in the Tenth Judicial District of Wisconsin. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jim Doyle in 2007.

During his judicial tenure, Schumacher has served as the Presiding Judge for the Eau Claire County Circuit Court.

Prior to his appointment, he practiced at Herrick & Hart for twenty-six years (1981 to 2007).

He received a bachelor’s degree from St. Cloud State University in 1978. Schumacher went on to complete a J.D. at Nebraska College of Law in 1981. He was admitted to practice in Wisconsin (1981) and Minnesota (1983).

Schumacher is a member of the Criminal Justice Collaborating Council in Eau County.
