The Hon. Miranda S. Summer is a judge for the 20th Judicial District Circuit Court in Oregon. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Kate Brown in 2022, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Ramón Pagán to the Oregon Court of Appeals.
The 20th Judicial District encompasses Washington County.
Prior to her appointment, Summer was a judge for the City of Beaverton Municipal Court, a position to which she was named in 2020. Before that, she was a sole practitioner in her own private practice (2017 to 2020).
Summer earned a bachelor’s degree from Regis University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Oregon School of Law in 2007.
After graduating from law school, Summer entered into private practice, handling workers' compensation matters at Reinisch Mackenzie. She stayed with the firm until 2010, at which time she became an administrative law judge for the Oregon Office of Administrative Hearings. Then, in 2011, she returned to private practice, specializing in family law and personal injury cases.
Her memberships have included the Oregon Gay & Lesbian Law Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Oregon Women Lawyers Association, and the Owen M. Panner American Inn of Court. She has also been involved with the Oregon State Board of Education and Habitat for Humanity.
Born in the Pacific Northwest, Summer was raised in Denver, Colorado.
