Judge Tina R. Ainley - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Tina R. Ainley is a judge for the Yavapai County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Janet Napolitano in 2008, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Janis Ann Sterling.

Prior to her appointment, Ainley was a deputy county attorney in the Civil Division of the Yavapai County Attorney’s Office, a position to which she was selected in 2001. Before that, she spent time as an assistant city attorney for the Office of the Prescott City Attorney (1999 to 2001).

Ainley earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Kentucky University. She then completed a J.D. at Vanderbilt Law School in 1988.

After graduating from law school, Ainley began her legal career as a deputy county attorney for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. She served in that capacity until 1999.

Born in Middletown, Ohio, Ainley moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1988. She and her husband moved to Prescott ten years later. They have two children.
