Judge Trish Rose: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Trish Rose is a judge for the 27th Judicial District Court of Kansas in Reno County. She was elected to the bench in 2010, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the late Hon. Richard Rome.

Prior to her election, Rose was a partner at Forker, Suter & Rose Law since 1980. She began her legal career in the Appellate Reporter Office of the Kansas Supreme Court (1978 to 1979).

She received a B.S. in education from Emporia State University. Rose then taught for one year as an English teacher at USD 500 (1974 to 1975) before completing a J.D. at the University of Kansas School of Law in 1978.

Her memberships include the Kansas District Judges Association, the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas Women Attorneys Association, the National Association of Women Judges, and the Reno County Bar Association. Rose has been involved with the Rotary and Soroptimist Clubs. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, she also served as the former mayor of Hutchinson and was a member of the Hutchinson City Council.

She is a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church.

Rose is registered as a Democrat.
