Judge Benjamin T. Ballou: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Benjamin T. Ballou is the probate commissioner for the Lake County Superior Court in Indiana.

Ballou earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Chicago in 1996. He then completed a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law in 1999.

After graduating from law school, Ballou entered into private practice, working as an attorney at Hodges & Davis.

His memberships have included the Lake County Bar Association and the Indiana Bar Association. He has also been involved with the board of the Crown Point Community Foundation and the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Ballou was born and raised in Crown Point, Indiana. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he has served as an assistant varsity football coach at Crown Point High School.
