Judge Brian J. Palmer - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Brian J. Palmer is a commissioner for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. He was appointed to the bench by the Hon. Joseph C. Welty in 2020.

During his tenure as a commissioner, Palmer has presided in the Probate Department.

Prior to joining the bench, he was senior litigation counsel in the Civil Division of the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (2018 to 2020).

Before that, Palmer worked in private and corporate practice. During that time, he was a partner (2013 to 2017) and senior litigation associate (2011 to 2012) at Zwillinger Greek Knecht, PC, trial counsel with Nationwide Title Insurance Co. (2010 to 2011), and a litigation associate at Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP (2004 to 2010).

Palmer received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin (1995) and an M.A. in history from Arizona State University (2001). He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Arizona, James E. Rogers College of Law in 2004.
