Biography

The Hon. Brian T. McGuffin is a judge for the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Tom Wolf on February 24, 2015, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Susan Devlin Scott (deceased).

Prior to his appointment, McGuffin was a sole practitioner in his own private practice, the Law Offices of Brian T. McGuffin.

McGuffin earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from La Salle University in 1982. He then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law in 1985.

After graduating from law school, McGuffin began his legal career as an assistant district attorney for the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office. He served in that capacity until 1991, at which time he entered into private practice as a partner at Drexler, Lyons & McGuffin (1991 to 1999) and Drexler & McGuffin (2000 to 2009).

His memberships have included the Bucks County Bar Association.

He is registered as a Democrat.
