Biography

Hon. Carolyn C. Whittington (Ret.) was a judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. She was appointed to the position in 2002. Whittington retired in 2018.

Prior to that, she spent ten years as an associate judge of the 21st Judicial Circuit Court (1992 to 2002).

Before beginning her judicial career, Whittington was a private practice attorney (1987 to 1992) and a former assistant county counselor for St. Louis County (1980 to 1987).

She received a B.S. in journalism from Northwestern University in 1970. Whittington went on to complete a J.D. at Saint Louis University School of Law in 1979.

She was admitted to practice in Missouri (1979) and Illinois (1980).
