Judge Charles W. Gurtler, Jr. - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Charles W. Gurtler, Jr. (Ret.) served as a judge for the Mohave County Superior Court in Arizona. Gurtler was elected to the bench in 2002. He retired on June 30, 2021.

Over the course of his judicial career, Gurtler held assignments as the Presiding Judge of the Juvenile Division (2003 to 2004) and Presiding Judge of Mohave County. He also led the committees responsible for writing the Local Rules of Practice of the Superior Court in Mohave County.

Gurtler earned a J.D. from California Western School of Law. After graduating from law school, he entered into private practice, where he worked for sixteen years. Then, in 1994, he was named judge pro tempore for the Juvenile Division of the Mohave County Superior Court.

A resident of Fort Mohave at the time of his retirement, Gurtler plans to spend more time hunting, fishing, and traveling.
