Biography

The Hon. David A. Riemenschneider (Ret.) served as a judge for the Superior Court of Mendocino County in California. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Jonathan M. Lehan.


Riemenschneider earned a B.A. from Stanford University. He then completed a J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.


He began his legal career in 1978. He first worked as a staff attorney for the Georgia Legal Services Program. Six years later, he relocated to Mendocino County and started his own civil practice with David Nelson. After Nelson was appointed to the Superior Court of California in 2003, Riemenschneider continued to serve his clients as a sole practitioner, specializing in family law.

He retired from the bench on March 31, 2019.
