Judge David H. Raihle, Jr. - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. David H. Raihle, Jr. is a court commissioner for the Chippewa County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was appointed to the bench by the judges of the circuit court in 1999.

Raihle earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1987. He spent the next few years with the United States Army before completing a J.D. at Hamline University School of Law in 1992.

He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin (1992), the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin (1992), the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin (1993), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (1996).

After graduating from law school, Raihle relocated to Chippewa Falls and entered into private practice with a local law firm. Then, in 1995, he opened his own practice, where he specialized in real estate transactions, family law, probate, and general civil litigation matters.

His memberships have included the Community Foundation of Chippewa County, the St. Joseph’s Hospital Advisory Council, the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association, the Chippewa Falls Noon Kiwanis, the Chippewa Falls Area Schools Safety Patrol, and the Chippewa Falls Military Historical Vehicle Preservation Association. He has also been involved with the Free & Accepted Masons Chippewa Falls Lodge #174 and the Mehara Shrine Club of Eau Claire.

Born and raised in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Raihle attended Chippewa Falls Senior High School. He and his wife, Rita, have two children. When not presiding over legal matters, he enjoys game hunting in Africa, fishing in Canada, beekeeping, renovating properties, and camping with his family.
